HISTORY:
If the whole of the Earth's history was
a single day, then human beings would not have arrived home until 6.15pm,
halfway through the Simpsons on
BBC2.
Humans would curse their miserable luck,
before realising that it was only a repeat anyway, and that maybe they
would enjoy an evening of different television delights instead, pondering
whether the presenters of Food and Drink
could get any fatter.
Remember: The human race isn't a sprint.
(it isn't a marathon either, because a marathon is 26 miles, and if
a human being stopped functioning after covering 26 miles, then they
wouldn't live very long)
The human race is a steeplechase. Anyone
can see that. Logical brains are good, but don't get cocky. There are
some tough jumps ahead.
